Overview: 

Insaf society, formerly known as Hakim Fazal Ahmad Welfare Trust was originally created in Pakistan in 1996 by Chairman Mr. Fayyaz Mansoor. The organization started its work with limited objectives. Though, after getting involved in human rights activities; Mr. Mansoor observed a high level of bad governance, non-productive policies, corruption, nepotism, legal flaws and deficient institutional functions. Social injustice was rife and heinous human rights violations were at their peak. The quality of life of the common man was deteriorating continuously and problems faced by the public were not being addressed. Safety of the common man was at stake.

 He observed that the judiciary was in total disarray. Access to the justice system was unaffordable for the common man. The trials were prolonged without any reason and no one was getting relief and justice on merit. The judicial system was a complete failure and offenders were not being punished for their crimes and misdeeds. No judicial reforms were made after Independence since 1947 and the inherited British judicial system was never modified as per interpretation of country’s system coded in constitution of Pakistan. Under such grave conditions, the operations of Hakim Fazal Ahmad Welfare Trust were reframed by ameliorating objectives in 1998 in the light of identified needs and issues of high importance. 

Mr. Mansoor foresaw that common man cannot get justice unless the systems and laws are reformed. In view of the enhanced objectives, the name of the organization was also changed ipso facto to” Insaf Society” (a word derived from Urdu language meaning “JUSTICE”) so that the organization’s designation directly symbolized its enhanced goals and motives. Thereafter, Chairman Fayyaz Mansoor started his mission for reforms in every respect for good governance, justice and integrity of common man in order to bring a rapid change for the betterment of unprivileged poor class.
